Ben Rosen, a sophomore at 探花社区 High School West, recently took 3rd place in the International Oceans Film Festival.
Ben was the only high school student in the United States to place in the competition. He made a film about the importance of storm drains and clean water. He skillfully took beautiful drone footage of local waterways to tell the story of what people can do to improve water quality on Long Island.
Ben worked for more than 5 months to develop the film with librarian Cathy Masrour and technology integration specialist Tim Needles. He also gathered feedback from people involved in the 探花社区 Storm Drain Initiative.
