High School East senior, Adrienne Porti, and High School West senior, Raquel Sciacca, have been selected to perform in LIHSA's production of Broadway Supports LIHSA. The production is a benefit performance for the Long Island High School for the Arts, the only public Arts High School on Long Island.
Both Adrienne and Raquel say their goal is to one day have a career on Broadway.
“I always loved to sing throughout the house, I’ve been performing since the 6th grade,” said Adrienne.
Raquel made her theatrical debut at the 探花社区 Theater playing Molly in the musical Annie when she was eight years old.
Dedicated to singing and dancing, Raquel studies tap dancing and performs with the NYC Tap Crews and also takes voice lessons. This past January, Raquel made her off-off-Broadway debut in the Pride House.
"Sometimes people ask me why I want to become an actress. The answer is simple: I'm just a curious person," Raquel told us. "I want to put myself in other people's shoes and discover new angles to life I would never have gotten to see if I stayed in my own little box."
Last March, Adrienne scored her first movie role in, “A Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point” which premieres this November.
Broadway Supports LIHSA, is a performance featuring students and current Broadway actors. It is scheduled to take place November 4th at the Long Island High School for the Arts.
