All in the name of science!
Science students from High School East were able to celebrate all of their amazing work they've done in the ThINK Discovery Program recently at the research symposium and awards night!
The student's posters were on display for parents and guests to view and ask questions. Keynote speaker, alumna Dr. Alexandra Matthews (2012 ThINK graduate), spoke about her research journey from high school to post doc at Stony Brook University.
Science department awards were handed out by science director Dr. Stephanie O'Brien. The evening continued with highlights of the 22-23 year of science fairs and essay competitions from 1st place in the national DNA essay to the 4th place in the world at the International Science & Engineering Fair.
Senior students then presented their work to a captivated audience. Also present to receive the 1st annual mentor recognition award were Dr. Paul Bingham and Dr. Zuzana Zachar from Stony Brook University.
