When Meghan Dyckova, librarian/school media specialist Mills Pond Elementary School, is not at school she’s hiking and walking.
“It’s relaxing to me, I love being in nature,” she said.
Meghan also loves taking pictures of nature, so imagine her surprise when her friend in Virginia noticed a picture in Birds and Blooms magazine that Meghan took.
“I screamed and jumped up and down,” Meghan said.
The picture was of a squirrel snacking on seeds in her son’s toy car in her backyard.
“I saw it out of my window and grabbed my camera fast.”
Meghan also mentioned how sometimes her fourth graders at Mills Pond write poems on her nature photos instead of using photos they find on Google.
Meghan’s photos have also been seen in Newsday and on News 12 Long Island.
As for future photo opportunities, Meghan said she has her eyes focused on the butterfly migration and the snowy owl.
