A few months ago, Danielle Costa’s 5th grade class at Tackan was reading a Scholastic News article debating if the U.S. should get rid of the penny. One of the supporting reasons to keep the penny was due to the many penny drives that donate to charities. And with that, an idea was born!
This past week, Costa’s class collected pennies throughout the school and proceeds will go towards The Ronald McDonald House of New York.
The Ronald McDonald House New York provides a temporary home and care for families in need so they can be close to the treatment and support their child battling cancer needs.
Great job!
