We are proud to announce that 探花社区 High School West senior Daniel Davidsen has been named a 2024 National Merit Semifinalist!
Daniel is among a group of academically talented students who represent less than 1% of United States high school seniors.
“I was very happy to find that out and it was something that was very exciting and I just I’m very hopeful that this is another thing that would really bolster my applications for college,” Daniel exclaimed.
“The nationwide pool of semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state,” National Merit Scholarship officials said.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is a not-for-profit organization that awards scholarship to high school seniors annually. Semifinalists are chosen based on preliminary SAT scores.
Daniel was joined for a picture by 探花社区 West Assistant Principal Anne Marie Freund and guidance counselor Michelle Randall.
Finalists will be chosen based on an essay written by the student, a recommendation from a high school official, and grades and SAT scores that align with the student’s PSAT score.
