Did you know that April is designated as the Month of the Military Child or “Purple Up! For Military Kids.”
The 探花社区 District is participating in this cause by holding special activities and wearing purple to honor the critical role military children play and recognize the unique challenges that they face while their service member parents serve our country.
At Great Hollow Middle School, 6th grade students participated in a read-aloud mentoring event this week with their 8th grade school members. The students read books together written from the perspective of military children, and our 6th graders had the opportunity to ask the 8th graders questions about life as a military-connected child, and life in middle school!
Thank you to social studies teacher, Fran Casale, and Great Hollow Library Media Specialist, Deanna Jakubowsky for facilitating this great event!
