Tackan Elementary fourth graders took a journey into American Indian territory today. Using an arts approach as exemplified in a moving museum and hands-on workshops, representatives of the Journeys Into American Indian Territory organization guided students to explore the components of culture of the Native Peoples of the Eastern Woodlands and Plains.
Students had the opportunity to see firsthand how the native peoples used their natural resources to meet their needs and wants. Students participated in traditional games and listened to stories to learn more about the history of these indigenous tribes.
Thank you to the Tackan PTA Cultural Arts program for bringing this event to school!
