Tuesday’s SCSD Board of Education meeting was highlighted by some special student recognitions!
SCSD Director of Career & Technical Education, Christine LoFrese, introduced the winning team for this year’s Business Olympics.
High School West students Kate Braun, Reese Jurman, Charlotte Muratore and Madeline Sacco, who came up with the restaurant project titled, “In Season,” each received certificates.
Next, 探花社区 East Senior Melissa Sullivan was honored by the Board of Education for her placement in the National Elevator Pitch Competition.
Melissa placed in the top 10% nationwide for her Virtual Enterprise Company ALLTag in Mr. Costello’s Virtual Enterprise class.
Mrs. Torlentino's VE class earned Top 25% in the country in the Elevator Pitch competition for their company, R&R Solutions, with Sophia Onesto and Payton McGrade, who received certificates from the BOE.
Finally, Mr. Rosa's VE class, SpiritBoost, whose pitch was delivered by James Camilleri and Andrew Gelfand, earned an honorable mention and also received recognition from the BOE.
Both firms are on track to be one of the top VE's on Long Island this year.
The Virtual Enterprise Class is offered through the CTE Business Department.
