Students from the Spanish Honor Society at High School East and High School West recently sponsored an evening full of engaging and educational activities to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
Everyone in attendance was able to participate in dance lessons, virtual tours to famous landmarks, domino tournaments, geography games and guacamole making lessons to name a few. The menu had a delicious selection of traditional foods from Spanish speaking countries like pupusas, pork, empanadas, yuca, arroz con gandules, churros and picada.
Students made posters to highlight the country of heritage of their families and these were available to learn from and enjoy. The evening was fun, interactive and a great display of joy and culture.
