“As you reenter your classrooms, I want you to look at everything as it’s the very first day.”
Those were the words of George Couros, a world renowned leadership consultant and speaker as he addressed SCSD staff at Superintendent’s Conference Day Tuesday morning.
Held at High School West, Mr. Couros was introduced by SCSD Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur, who said George is “One of the best, if not the best speakers I’ve seen.”
Couros’ message focused on storytelling and creating a student-centered environment in school by making students feel welcome and valued.
“Change is a constant in our world, and with new opportunities for learning and evolving technology (such as AI and emerging technologies), it is imperative that we focus not only on the change that happens to us, but more importantly, the change we create,” George said.
“The best way to deal with change is to initiate the change we want to see in our schools and classrooms.”
