The HSW Clothing Construction classes have sewn their pajama pants from scratch! Starting with a pattern and a few yards of fabric, they used the techniques learned throughout the course towards a culminating project that they can wear and enjoy for years to come!
Students can now independently thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, sew even seam allowances, adjust and secure hems, and mend garments to extend the longevity of their wardrobe...and their budget. Environmental impact and the fast-fashion industry are recurring topics in the course.
Clothing Construction is offered through the CTE Family & Consumer Sciences Department, and can also be used for an art credit towards graduation when taken with College Interior Design.
Students can return to take the Advanced Clothing Construction course next Fall.
