Mr. Karmin's High School West AP Economics class recently conducted a simulation to better understand the Circular Flow Model. In this lesson, students learned about market interactions and participated in a simulation. "Ducks and Bucks" involves transactions between businesses and households as half of the students competed to “earn” the most money while half of the students sought to acquire the most Ducks.
The students then visualized their conclusions on a circular-flow diagram which demonstrated how money circulates around the economy from households to businesses, and then back to households. Students were actively engaged throughout the activity.
