Law Enforcement officers walked down the aisle to thunderous applause as Dogwood Elementary School hosted it’s annual Police Appreciation Day event on Wednesday, May 15.
Principal Renee Carpenter told the officers and students, “This morning we are here to show gratitude for people that we think are heroes. These heroes don’t wear capes but as you can see some do wear a uniform.”
Law enforcement officers who are parents, guardians and siblings of Dogwood students were thanked for their service and dedication.
The entire school honored those who have or are currently serving by waving flags, singing songs, reciting poems and presenting cards of appreciation and thanks. Dogwood leadership students even put together "patrol snack bags."
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Principal Carpenter told the officers, "We hope you felt the love and appreciation we have for you this morning. As you go about your work in the community serving and protecting others, do so knowing that you carry the support and gratitude of Dogwood, of 探花社区 along with you as we work in partnership to educate the whole child. Stay safe and thank you for joining us this morning.”
