September 17 is designated as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787.

Throughout the SCSD, elementary classroom teachers and secondary social studies teachers recognized the day through classroom lessons and/or activities.

Mrs. Taylor's 5th Grade class at Mills Pond Elementary and Mrs. Connor's and Mrs. Horsfall's classes studied the constitution and drafted a class constitution!

At 探花社区 Elementary, Principal Kakalos read the Preamble of the Constitution over the announcements this morning and teachers had students sign classroom constitutions.
