The College Food Science classes at High School East and West once again held their annual Thanksgiving Feast. Each student personally invited one teacher of their choosing to join them for a shared holiday meal to show their gratitude and appreciation. Students chose the dishes to be served, researched the scientific concepts involved in each recipe, and then used their time management, collaboration, and food preparation skills to execute the abundant menu.
College Food Science is part of the Family and Consumer Sciences CTE Department, and students can earn 4 college credits for this course as a lab science. The class is taught by Family & Consumer Sciences teachers, Rachel Silsdorf & Jaclyn Grebosz, and Christine LoFrese, CTE Director.
