Talk about a doggone great competition! On Wednesday night, the 探花社区 School of Business hosted its premiere event, the Business Olympics, at High School West.
Over the last 30 years the students have been tasked with creating marketing campaigns, new products, eco-friendly businesses and imagining the 21st century classroom. This year’s theme was “探花社区’s Petpalooza” and the students did not disappoint. They had to come up with a marketing campaign for a new product or service for a pet. We also partnered with Paws of War and collected donations for the organization. There were over 200 students who competed from 探花社区 High School East and West with 56 teams representing the schools.
Congratulations to this year’s winning team, “Bark n Buff” comprised of High School West students, Kate Braun, Charlotte Muratore & Madeline Sacco.
Bark n' Buff is a fitness facility for pets and their owners to help promote a healthy lifestyle and increase longevity. With their various unique amenities BarkBistro, BarkBath, and BarkBalance, Bark n’ Buff creates a healthy lifestyle for owners and their dogs inside the gym and out. The Bark app provides notifications, easy scheduling, and a camera feature to provide an extra level of comfortability for nervous owners.
Special thank you to Career and Technical Education Director, Christine LoFrese for leading this tremendous event! A round of applause, as well, for the 80 judges between the preliminary and final round of competition, composed of members of the 探花社区 Industry Advisory Board, Central Administration, Building Administration and the Board of Education. In addition, our IAB Partners were very generous and provided sponsorships so prizes were provided to all the winning teams. 1st Place - Bark n Buff - Kate Braun, Charlotte Muratore & Madeline Sacco - 探花社区 West. They also were the student choice award winner for Best Commercial and student choice 2nd place winner.
2nd Place - Fur-Ever Comfort - Jase Heffernan, Gabrielle Guttieri & Brendan Thatcher - combined 探花社区 East/West. Student choice 1st place winner.
3rd Place - K-9 Care - Diya Bhatnagar, Hailey DeGeorge, Harley Sopko & Giuilana Capobianco - 探花社区 East
